Project Description

This project consists of updating an HVAC system for an old small building going trough renovations. The HVAC design relies heavily on two reference books trough out the project. The books use old ASHRAE standards and a more accurate heating/cooling loads can be calculated using newer standards & values. This is not a final design solution, as updated ASHRAE standards should be used, but to demonstrate how an HVAC system is designed.

Project introduction/requirements with a brief mock up drawing where HVAC equipment should be placed before calculations are performed.

Calculations (Values/Loads)

Overall analysis of the building with calculations involving :

• Areas & U factors (walls,glass,roof, etc.)

• Fresh air Requirements

• People,lighting, & Equipment Loads

• Heating/Cooling Loads

Units/Ducting/Final Layout

Selection of Units/Loads by zone and preliminary design of the HVAC system.
